What are the 7 different modes on the Tuning Box?

The 7 modes on the tuning box are all gradual increases in power and torque. Mode 1 will be the most mild performance increase and will also return the best fuel efficiency. Mode 7 will offer the maximum power and torque quoted, with a gain in fuel efficiency. Generally, Mode 7 will not be as fuel efficient as Mode 1, however we do suggest you try the Tuning Box on each mode to find what's best for you. Follow this link to find out more:

Do I need to notify my insurance provider?

The Tuning Box is an engine modification ans will affect the power rating. You must contact your insurer and inform them of the installation. We rarely see large increases on insurance premiums when notified.

Can I swap my system to another vehicle?

Accepted Answer

Our Tuning Boxes are compatible with 95% of vehicles, but it is almost always the case that the Tuning Box will need to be reprogrammed with new engine specific software. This is to ensure safe operation and maximum power gains. A new harness/wiring loom for the new engine type is included in the reprogramming cost as well as a full inspection.

How do I return my Tuning Box under the 30 day guarantee?

If you have changed your mind about your purchase, then you are covered under our 30 day guarantee. To initiate a claim simply call our offices to begin the returns process, or email the technical team directly on technical@tdi-tuning.com. You will be issued a returns number and be advised to return the product via an insured and tracked courier service.

Is the Tuning Box safe?

Yes. The tuning box is specifically designed to run perfectly on stock vehicles, and it does not overwrite any ECU data or safety parameters. The manufacturer also incorporates a factor of safety into all components to ensure they can handle well over the standard power and torque.

We only tune within safe limits, and we have been successfully tuning vehicles via this method since 2004 without causing damage to a vehicle. All of your vehicle's existing safety features are always in full control of your engine. None of our tuning boxes override or alter your vehicle's safety settings at any time.
